This is the second wool comforter that I have bought and 12 years later my first one is in great shape but too heavy in the Phoenix heat! So I bough the lightweight one and it seems to be perfect! Great product, easy transaction, and I’m very happy!

Care Instructions
Washing: Hand wash only in lukewarm water with a mild, wool-safe detergent. Do not use hot water or agitate the fabric, as this can felt the wool fibers.
Drying: Eco-friendly dry cleaning, line-dry, or air-dry flat. Never use a dryer or apply direct heat. Allow the comforter to dry completely before use, which may take 1-2 days in good conditions.
Regular Maintenance: Regular sunning (placing your comforter outside in fresh air and indirect sunlight) naturally refreshes the wool and maintains its beneficial properties.

We accept returns of unused bedding in original packaging within 7 days of delivery. Due to hygiene regulations and the nature of bedding products, we cannot accept returns of used or washed items. Please review our full return policy before purchasing.

Returns Due to the hypoallergenic nature of the product and bedding law regulations, bedding can not be used or laundered and qualify for return. We will accept unused and still in the original packaging bedding for 7 days from receipt of the shipment. The buyer is responsible for return shipping and ensuring that the returned bedding arrives to us in new condition and in a timely manner. Please e-mail us immediately at matt@wool-bedding.com upon deciding to return your purchase.

Refunds (if applicable) Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. Late or missing refunds (if applicable) If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Traditional Processing
Without Chemicals
When raw wool arrives at our mill, we process it using methods refined over more than a century. The wool is hand-washed in large bathtubs using 180-degree water—no harsh chemicals or synthetic detergents. This thorough cleaning removes natural oils and any field debris while preserving the fiber's inherent benefits.
After washing, the wool air dries for 3-5 days, depending on humidity and season. We never rush this process with artificial heat that could damage the fibers.
The result is clean, fluffy wool batting that maintains its loft and temperature-regulating abilities for the life of your comforter.
In our finishing area, skilled craftspeople stretch certified organic cotton fabric and wool batting over wooden frames.

We love our lightweight comforter! Our home is set at 63 degrees. We were warm and the comforter weight felt just right. Feels actually more warm and cozy. We appreciated the quality construction and no factory odor. We figured that a company that's been selling comforters for 90+ years must have a good product! Loved supporting US made! This is a wonderful product that feels special. I’ll have it forever. I ordered lightweight since I live in Southern California. It is perfect. It feels great getting into a bed of natural materials, knowing it’s not toxic. It was difficult finding a cover for the Full size, but I just accepted that the cover will be a little large. I am also from the Frankenmuth area, and love having a bit of home on my bed!

I had my doubts about switching to a wool comforter in the middle of summer, but I am impressed with the cooling properties of this product. I always sleep pretty hot and I prefer colder weather. In the Summer I can barely use a top sheet. My previous comforter was made of down, and it certainly wasn’t bad, but this is so much better. On hot Summer nights I can still sleep with my top sheet and the comforter. I’m not sure how it will hold up in the Winter, so I’ll have to wait and see

I LOVE this comforter! It’s breathable and not hot at all. I’ve been trying to use more natural fibers reducing plastics from bedding and clothes. Also a lot of bedding makes me too warm, and I wake up sweating. Wool is a great alternative to down and I was so happy this company was in Michigan! I was nervous about it but after two weeks, I can say, I love my comforter and pillows. It’s a bonus to be supporting a local family business.
Arrived on time. It was a birthday present and my GF loved it.
Seems like a great product for wool lovers, but I woke up the first night and almost vomited. I know lanolin has a "smell", but I bought this specifically because I'm a hot sleeper and sweat, so I guess maybe it isn't for me. I tried air drying outside in the sun for a day but the same thing happened. I'm either going to try my best to get it dry cleaned and washed well, or just give it away. :( Very sad. Edit: they're sending me a new one - 5 stars for the customer service alone.

I was undecided between the lightweight and normal weight of the wool blanket. I ultimately decided on the lightweight because I do sleep warm. I put it inside of a cotton duvet cover and it’s so cozy and comfy. I don’t want to leave my bed in the mornings.

The comforter shipped quickly and arrived within a few days. The lightweight version was actually heavier than I expected. I had been on the fence between the lightweight and all-season option, and I’m really glad I went with the lightweight. At first, I thought it might be too warm, but after using it for several nights, I’ve found that the wool really does live up to its reputation and regulates temperature well. I’ll probably be ordering a second one for my wife’s side of the bed soon, assuming she doesn’t steal mine first.

Though simple and plain the duvet insert seems to be well made. Time will tell how it holds up. We’ve been using it for only a week. Inside the duvet cover it feels lightweight and fluffy (even though it’s rather thin) and can sometimes feel too warm, though that does pass after some time. I do plan to use it year round. Mostly I chose this item because it is all natural and made, skillfully and thoughtfully by hand, in the USA. The price point is also the best I found (and I looked everywhere!!) I am thankful for companies like Frankenmuth and happy and willing to support them.

Very comfy and cozy without being too hot. My fiance and I both sleep warm so even during the winter months, we wanted a breathable comforter. Its been perfect. In a duvet cover, its the perfect amount of fluffy. We had some confusion when first putting the comforter in the duvet cover as there aren't loops in the corners to tie into but we tied into the stability ties and tucked the corners up, it hasn't moved around much yet. Very happy with our new comforter!
Hard to live without my wool comforter/duvet insert! Just purchased one for my daughter after her sister- my other daughter - received one for Christmas and has been obsessed!
