Each wool bedding set includes an all season comforter, mattress topper, and pillows. This wool comforter set features a wool comforter encased in organic cotton — a breathable, natural alternative to heavyweight synthetic-fill comforters or duvet insert setups. Our wool comforter works two ways: as a complete, ready-to-use comforter on its own, or as the duvet insert inside your own duvet cover. Knotted approximately every nine inches, the comforter provides easy temperature regulation in any weather for improved sleep. The mattress topper, approximately 2.5 inches thick, provides you with added comfort along with the natural benefits of wool. It is knotted approximately every nine inches with elastic straps to secure it. The wool bedding sets also include 1-2 bed pillows, sized appropriately for your set. Each of our wool pillows features wool batting that compresses about 1/3 of the original loft, providing firm support and gentle cushioning – ideal for hot sleepers, side sleepers, and anyone seeking restful sleep.
A tie kit is included with each comforter for securing inside a duvet or you can opt to have the ties permanently sewn in.

Our commitment to quality and great sleep starts with the wool for the bedding sets. We scoured the country to find ranchers who not only treat their sheep humanely but also share in our passion for providing materials and products that are made in the USA.
Once the wool arrives at the Mill, it is processed traditionally using our century-old machinery. It's hand-washed in bathtubs using 180-degree water and dried for 3 - 5 days, depending on the time of year. After the wool is dried, it is taken to our carding room, where it’s combed and processed on 100-year-old equipment using no chemicals or oils.
After the wool is processed, it's taken to our finishing area, where 100% certified organic cotton fabric — the organic cotton shell of every wool comforter we produce — and wool are stretched over wooden frames and hand-tied in the old European fashion. Tying holds the wool in place and keeps it secure so it doesn't move around inside. After the Wool Filled Comforter is tied, the edges are sewn, and it's ready for sale.
At each step through the Mill, there is great attention to detail so that each wool bedding set we produce is delivered to our high standards. The result is high-quality wool products with a natural softness and breathability that no thread count metric or synthetic fill can replicate.

I was tired of polyester so looked for a more natural alternative. This was one of the top search results. It checked all the boxes as far as transparency and materials so took the plunge. Plus I had heard about the town of Frankenmuth from my mother-in-law. The first couple nights were a smidge sweaty but did some experimenting. Weighted blankets we had been using were not allowing air to flow and insulating body heat. Also when the A/C wasn't running, the stagnant air made things feel warmer. At any rate, after the initial adjustment period, sleep has been comfortable. The mattress topper is plush and comfy. I'm waiting for the pillows to deflate some but it's nice knowing I'm not sleeping on plastic. Only complaint is the organic cotton fabric is a little noisy. It crinkles but probably will soften over time. It's by no means a deal breaker. I'm just a bit hypersensitive with a newborn in the room. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase and recommend these products to anyone looking for a more natural bedding.

We have slept with our mattress pad, comforter and pillows for the past two nights and we are sleeping so much better. We are both in our late 50s and have been increasingly experiencing poor sleep. We decided to invest in your bedding after hearing about it it from our son and daughter in law, who live in Grand Rapids. We slept on their bed last Thanksgiving - they have Frankenmuth mattress pad and comforter - and we slept much better there than in our own bed! We decided to make the investment in great quality bedding and so far we are sleeping much better. We probably won’t use the comforter in the hot Arkansas summer months, but I feel that the mattress pad will still help keep us cool and comfortable.
I only wish that I hadn't put this purchase off for so long, this purchase was well worth the improvement in the quality of my sleep. I plan to purchase more of these items as gifts, especially the pillow. Thank you!
My Frankenmuth wool bed set is glorious even in toasty Southern California. I'd never considered the properties of wool that make it such a perfect choice for year round bedding. The only thing I would change is a pillow that could be made a little thinner by removing some of the filling. But as is, it makes for a firm back pillow when I'm lounging and body pillow when I'm sleeping. Super fast, efficient delivery. Worth every penny of the investment. I'm thrilled to have found Frankenmuth.

Big fans so far! We were on a mission to de-plastic our bed, so we found a natural materials mattress, this bedding set, and organic cotton mattress and pillow protectors as well as duvet cover to help protect our wool products and keep them clean. We live in Wisconsin and this comforter is perfect for winter use. The pillows seemed a bit firm at first, but within a few uses they broke in nicely. I'm petite and can't use very thick pillows - the flexibility of the wool seems to allow for creating different thicknesses in different parts of the pillow, which I really appreciate. This is great for shifting from different sleeping positions. The mattress cover was also the perfect solution to a slightly too firm feeling mattress. I also value keeping local, US mills in business and utilizing sustainable, US farms for sourcing the wool. This kit was well worth the investment!
Love this so far, (5 nights), it’s quiet when it moves, unlike down. It does not warm you up, it maintains a temperature similar to being in the womb, you feel no temperature which is ideal. The weight is nice, not heavy on your toes. Cleans & freshens by being in sunshine, just like me! The company’s website is easy to shop from and it arrived within a week. Best part? The name of the company- Frankenmuth! Frank N Muth, so much fun to say!

Beautifully produced bedding from a domestic mill. I love the plushness of these wool pillow. The mattress topper is cozy (gives more than foam). The comforter is superb for fighting of winter cold. So comfy & warm without making one hot The pillows are great if one likes a very full pillow ( I prefer less fullness but love this one for sitting in bed to read)… will use along w my smaller pillow for choice. Currently loving this bedding set! I'm still sorting out the best configuration of mattress topper protection while trying to achieve temperature regulation, but the topper and comforter are incredibly soft, fluffy, and inviting -- I'm looking forward to how they perform in the cooler months. Pillows are firm, but supportive and I have less neck pain which is a win. Customer service has been responsive and helpful -- would definitely recommend purchasing from and supporting Frankenmuth!

We have been using our new bedding for over a week now. We definitely love the wool mattress topper because its very soft and definitely helps with supporting your body. The mattress topper is heavy but feels soo good. It will definitely keep us warm in the winter. The 2 pillows are a bit more stuffed than we prefer, but they actually work perfect for the shams on the bed. Definitely an A+ company and sleeping has been better than ever!

I am SO glad I found this company, and in ao ao glad that I chose to invest in my sleep rather than go for the cheaper option. SOOOOOOO WORTH IT!!!! I have slept the best I have in the last year, confirmed by my Oura ring, and have been having about my sleep quality. In addition, the service was super fast and friendly. I ordered the set on a Sunday and right when I hit the purchase button, I realized I entered the wrong shipping address. Immediately emailed them to see if I could change it (some companies don't let you). By Monday morning, I had a friendly response saying I could change it. Within a few hours, my package was shipped, and I received in Wednesday evening. These days, the lack of humanity and quality in our corporate post-capitalistic hellscape is maddening. Frankenmuth has given me some much-needed hope that all is not lost to the realm of profits over quality. They clearly care about their product and customers.
I found Frankenmuth Woolen Mill through a late night google search. I've been looking for temperature regulating/cooling bedding that isn't nylon/polyester/ bamboo. I'm cold at bedtime but wake up hot in the middle of the night even with the thermostat set at 65 degrees. It's February and very cold here and I find that I am still hot in the middle of the night, so I'm a little worried about how this is going to work during the warmer months. I wear merino wool layers regularly and understand the advantages of wool. All of that being said, the mattress topper is like sleeping on a cloud and the comforter is the perfect weight. The craftsmanship is impressive and I love getting into bed at night. I'm a little worried about the laundering process and being strong enough to hand wash these large items (yes, I know I can mail them to Michigan).
Everything about this bedding seems fine. Once it is warmed up it stays toasty and cozy. I bought it because i was having allergy problems with synthetic down. I have no allergy issues with this set. Nice to be able to support a good Michigan business.

Exceptional customer service. Great quality bedding. We feel like royalty in this bed! Going to order standard pillows as king size are too big for sleeping on. I would say that the bedding can get hot but it does also temperature regulate. I don't wake up sweating though. I don't really know how to explain how it is different from down but it definitely is different. It does temperature regulate but when our kid jumps in the bed with us and all 3 of us are under the covers it does heat up. We are in the South East. It's winter time now so we will see how it goes in the summer but I think it was a great choice and we will be thrilled for years to come over this bedding.
